We installed our pool late this summer, and I could not bring myself to take down a stately oak that is far enough away so that it never shades the pool, but autumn rolls around boy can it drop some leaves. Plus the neighbors have pine trees and sweetgums that contribute their leaves when the wind is right. I was frustrated trying to use the regular vacuum because the hose and skimmer basket were clogging every few minutes. With the leaf eater you attach your aluminum pole and a garden hose, turn on the hose, and the leaves are "vacuumed" into a mesh bag. Dump the bag and you're done. It is so much easier and quicker than using your vacuum system, and it doesn't strain the pump, hose, or skimmer basket.
